While the preparations for the Nations Cup and World Championships are in progress, Italy is also preparing for its first international minigolf competition of the 2007 athletic season. The third edition of the Trofeo Internazionale delle Monete- Memorial Silvio Galvani will take place in Paderno Dugnano on 4 March at the mingolf courses of via Aldo Moro. The tournament will follow the official regulations of the World Minigolf Federation and include the following categories: men, women, juniors, seniors and team play. Registration for the event starts from 22/02 till 01/03 and can be completed by emailing mmcpaderno@figsp.it or calling Alemanno Roberto at +39 02.9183169 for registration forms. The registration fee is €15,00 for adults and €8,00 for juniors, this fee also includes a refreshment on Saturday 3 March and various discounts at hotels and restaurants in the area. The official practice for the tournament will fall the day before the competition on 3 March from 08.00 to 17.00, the practice is open only to registered participants for a cost of €4,50 and is closed to the public. The refreshment takes place immediately after the practice at 17.05 and again, is open only to players taking part in the competition. The following day sees the beginning of the tournament at 8.00 (or 07.30 if the number of players exceeds 90) and anticipates 3 rounds of minigolf for all participants, which is dependant on the number of players. If the registration exceeds 100 players than only the top 50% will compete in the third round and with more than 125 players only the highest 33% will compete in the final round and with over 140 players the final round is reserved for the best 25%. The tournament will be followed by an awards ceremony in which medals will be given to the top players in each category. In addition, during the two days of the event there will be a representative of the Azienda Agricola Masini Felice, which will have a stand where attendants of the competitions can sample this companies’ various products, such as their wine.
