Kåre Thomsen may well be one of the top players representing Denmark at the World Championships in August of the upcoming year. Thomsen, who has been playing minigolf since 1993, is no novice when it comes to the World Championships, having already placed in the finals four times, in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005. An active member of the Aalborg Minigolf Klub, Thomsen, 29, has been playing for the Danish National Team since 1998. Because of his skill and expertise when it comes to playing in minigolf tournaments this talented player regularly finds himself occupying a place on the winners’ podium in almost all of the various competitions in which he has participated, both in Denmark and abroad. Of the competitions which have taken place in Denmark his major successes occurred at the Danish Championships where he took the gold for the individual category in 2000, 2001 and 2003, and then in 2006 when he and his team-mates of the Aalborg Minigolf Klub placed first for the team category. Thomsen’s achievements do not stop here because in 2004 he found himself playing in the finals of the European Championships and in 2006 he was awarded the silver medal at the Yokohama International Open Championships in Japan. He ranked 56th among all professional minigolf players worldwide. His personal four bests rounds are 81 strokes (20,25 in average) in miniaturegolf; 115 strokes (28,75 in average) in minigolf; 116 strokes (29 in average) in felt golf. To sum up, because of his dedication to the sport Thomsen has many wins under his belt and you can be sure that if he will be playing for the Danish National Team at the 2007 World Championships he will certainly be one to watch.
