The Norwegian champion Nora Fause
She works as an engineer, is devoted to her roles as wife and mother, but not only, in addition to these positions Nora Fause, 44, also plays another exclusive part, that of a professional minigolf player. In fact Norwegian Nora Fause is no newcomer to minigolf; she has been enjoying the sport for 18 years and playing at a professional level for 16. Introduced to the sport by a friend who was already involved in the world of minigolf, Fause was drawn to this unique pastime because she enjoyed the competitive aspect of minigolf and the overall character of the game. «I like to practice and improve upon the details» says Nora, and when this busy Norwegian woman has a bit of free time she heads to her local minigolf club in Oslo, the Christiania Minigolf Club, to polish up her minigolf skills.

As a member of the Norwegian National Team since 1991, Fause has participated in her fair share of both national and international tournaments. Although she doesn’t remember her specific finishing positions in any of the many World Championships or European Championships in which she has participated, in the Nordic Championships she took home the gold in 1998, came in second in 1996, 2001 and 2004 and placed third in 2006. In addition, Fause can boast of further achievements when it comes to her personal best rounds scoring a perfect 18 in miniature, an impressive 24 in feltgolf and 26 in minigolf. According to Fause the real pull to the competitive world of minigolf is «the concentration and relaxation of playing minigolf –explains the Norwegian-. And all the friendships made throughout the years». Fause goes on to say that in order to win one must be able to focus and stay calm, traits that she will bring to the 2007 world championships and ones that will surely help her achieve a top performance.
