| The land of Altomilanese |
Altomilanese does not only have a history of factories and a present of developed industries. It’s not only the suburbs of Milan or even the countryside located northwest of the city. Rather Altomilanese is a territory which over the years has achieved a weaving together of various functions and a network of services. It is an area where mills, farmsteads, shopping centers, water ways and highways come together.
A barycentre which lies between the economic capital of the Country, the lakes and Ticino Park; the land of Altomilanese well summarizes the chapters of the last century of the economic history (the passage from agriculture to the manufacturing of textiles, from heavy industry to deindustrialization, arriving to where it is today, a society of services).
The land lies between two important infrastructures born at the beginning of the new millennium: the Malpensa Hub and the Rho-Pero Exibition Center.
A theater of pre-roman settlements in ancient times, the scene of the battle in which the cities defeat the German Empire in order to get out from Middle Age and nowadays fighting to catch the attention and resources from the central power in order to fuel its development. This is Altomilanese, a land that doesn’t lack of either history or a future.
