| Reaching Altomilanese |
The land of Altomilanese is easy to reach by car and by rail. Infact, it is located in a key position and close to the most important airport of Northern Italy, Milan Malpensa.
By car:
There are two motorways that reach the land of Altomilanese:
- A8 or Lakes Motorway (exit at Legnano)
- A4 or Milano – Torino (exit at Boffalora to reach Castano Primo and exit at Arluno to reach Parabiago)
From Milan: take the SS33, the National Road Sempione (in Milan Corso Sempione starts from the Arco della Pace, than becomes Viale Certosa and via Gallarate). In 15 minutes you can reach Altomilanese (Nerviano, Parabiago, San Vittore Olona, Legnano)
From Malpensa:
to reach Legnano take the A8 motorway towards Milan and exit at Legnano (15 minutes)
To reach Castano Primo take the motorway towards Novara and exit at Castano Primo (15 minutes)
By rail:
In the area around Milan there are two railway societies: the National Railway (Ferrovie dello Stato, FS) and the Milan North Railway (Ferrovie Nord Milano, FNM). Both of them reach the land of Altomilanese.
National Railway: from the stations Milano Porta Venezia – Milano Repubblica – Milano Porta Garibaldi – Milano Lancetti trains directed to Gallarate and Varese depart for Parabiago, Canegrate and Legnano (duration of the trip from 25 to 40 minutes: trains make all stops).
From Milano Porta Garibaldi Station there are departures for the same destinations; take the trains directed to Varese, Porto Ceresio, Luino and Domodossola
North Railway: from the stations of Milano Cadorna – Milano Domodossola - Milano Bovisa departures to Rescaldina, Vanzaghello and Castano Primo (duration of the trip from 30 to 50 minutes: trains make all stops) take the trains directed to Novara.
